Project: The Future Representative – A Mixed Media project

This project was created as part of my specialization in Mixed Media and stands out as one of my favorite works. Over the course of eight weeks, I explored the idea of a “Future Representative” – a symbolic figure who fights for a cause I personally care about. I chose to focus on sexual abuse, a topic that felt more intimate and powerful than my original theme of feminism. My goal was to translate emotion into visual storytelling through 2D, 3D, and digital components.

3D
For the 3D element, I designed a wearable object that would physically represent the theme. After extensive research and reflection on keywords like vulnerability, I created a corset with sculpted hands attached. The hands symbolize unwanted touch as well as the weight survivors carry. The corset became both a shield and a statement, capturing the emotional complexity of the subject.

2D
In the 2D part of the project, I designed a series of posters that combine photography, typography, and my own linoprint of an anatomical heart. The heart represents emotional impact and strength. I collaborated with a friend who modeled the corset, adding a human presence to the visuals that emphasized both softness and strength. The posters aim to provoke thought and create awareness through simplicity and symbolism.

DIGI
The final part was a stop-motion animation for the digital component. I built a miniature set and created the main character using silver foil and animation clay. The stop-motion brings the theme to life in a delicate, expressive way, using slow, intentional movements to show inner conflict and vulnerability. This digital piece ties the entire project together and gives the narrative emotional depth.
