Triptych mixed media

Date

June 2025

This triptych is a deeply personal exploration of what “home” means to me. Each panel represents a different emotional layer of my family life the outside world, the inner heart, and my personal space. Through mixed media techniques, childhood photos, stamped words, textures, and symbolism, I’ve visualized the chaos, love, and complexity of growing up in a house that feels both fragile and strong.

Left Panel – The Outside View
This panel reflects how things may appear perfect from the outside: a smiling family, a beautiful home, a calm surface. But behind the front door lie arguments, pain, and silence. It speaks to the contrast between perception and reality how people compare themselves to others without knowing the full story behind their walls.

Center Panel – The Heart of the House
The middle piece holds the emotional core: my family. A house perched on a narrow mountaintop represents our balance strong but vulnerable. Each room holds someone I love, with both light and darkness. This is where I show our shared history, our conflicts, but also the unbreakable bond that keeps us connected.

Right Panel – My Own Space
This is my personal corner of the house my safe place. Here, I am both a flower and a bulb: growing, resting, opening up and withdrawing when I need to. Surrounded by mirrors, this panel is about self-reflection, acceptance, and the quiet strength of becoming who I am. It’s about embracing imperfection and finding peace within it.
