Project: Greek Gods and Goddesses – Watercolor Paintings

For this art history project, I created three small watercolor paintings inspired by Greek gods and goddesses. The project allowed me to explore classical mythology and translate it into visual art. The cover piece is a portrait of Helen of Troy, a figure whose beauty and tragic story have inspired artists for centuries.

Although I didn't complete the other two paintings, I enjoyed experimenting with watercolor techniques. It was a medium I hadn't worked with much before, and this project gave me the chance to get comfortable with it. Watercolor allowed me to create soft, flowing effects, which added a dreamlike quality to the figures of the gods and goddesses.

The project helped me develop my skills with watercolor and gave me an appreciation for how this medium can be used to convey depth and emotion in art. Even though I didn’t finish all the paintings, I found the process of painting these mythological figures to be exciting and rewarding.

Working on this project was a valuable learning experience, and I plan to continue experimenting with watercolor in future works.
